When we launched the project in February this year, our original target was £4000, which was the cost of providing a year’s food for the 700 children in Mitsidi Primary. When we realised we were likely to exceed this target, we agreed with Mary’s Meals that the surplus would be set against the initial costs of setting up the Mitsidi feeding station itself (some £4000).

As noted in last week’s Bulletin, actual donations received to date from the parish have reached over £6000. With the direct debits still to come for the remaining part of the year, and with your continuing generous support over the next four or five months, we are very confident that by February 2008 (when the project is a year old) we will be able to achieve this secondary target. We will then be asking you for help in deciding the future direction of the project.
