Vocations Awareness Week

During this week you are asked to remember in your prayers that more men will answer God's call to serve in the priesthood.

Commitment / Involvement Sunday

This weekend we will have the possibility of either volunteering to begin, or to continue to help in the various areas of Parish life, or to take a rest for a year.

Next Sunday - Sea Sunday

This is the annual appeal to support the vital ministry of Stella Maris the Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), in providing pastoral and practical help to seafarers visiting our shores. This special collection will be taken as you leave the Church.

Fairtrade

This weekend after all Masses, the Fairtrade Stall, with lots of new items in stock, will be available in the Theresa Hall.

Liturgy Meeting

This will take place on Monday 14^th September at 7.30pm in the main hall (please use main hall door). While all parishioners are welcome, it is hoped that those responsible for ministries will be there.

Social Group

All those who are willing to help with or organize a social event for this year are invited to a meeting on Tuesday 15^th September at 7.30pm in the Theresa Hall. Please enter by side door.

Hall Group

The meeting for all those who look after the hall and the various aspects connected with it, will be on Friday 18^th September at 7.30pm in the Theresa hall. Please enter by side door.

Welcome Enrolled P3

Next Sunday at 10am Mass, we will welcome the Primary 3 children of the parish who have been enrolled into the Sacraments.

Reading Group

The next meeting of the group will be on Thursday 24^th September at 7.30pm in the Winning room. Please enter by back kitchen door.

Priests for Scotland

In celebration of the Year of the Priest, Priests for Scotland invites you to take part in the photographic competition entitled Contemporary Images of the Diocesan Priest.  For more information please contact the website http://www.priestsforscotland.org.uk/. Serra Club - Praying for Vocations

The Serra Club is re-launching the 31 Club - a religious vocations prayer activity which aims to have at least one Mass offered for vocations every day of the year. Parishioners are asked to participate by committing to attend Mass on a particular date, selected on the posters provided at the back of the Church. Sign up and offer your Mass for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Novena in Honour of Our Lady of Sorrows

7^th - 15^th September - Novena Mass and devotions weekdays at 12.15 and 7.30pm; Saturday 12.15 and 6.00pm; and Sunday at 12.00 and 7.00pm in Saint Mungo's Church, Townhead.

Genesis 2 Reunion - 25 Years

Milngavie Churches

Christian Focus Week

Milngavie United Free Church on Craigdhu Road, has organized this week from 4^th - 11^th October. The general theme for all the talks is "What are you wearing? Why don't you put on a new self - clothe yourself in Christ". For details of all the talks please see the noticeboard.

Glasgow Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

This eight day pilgrimage from 1^st - 9^th November 2009, will be led by Rt Rev Mgr Peter Canon Smith JCL.  The cost of the trip is £775 and deposits of £150.00 are now required to be paid. Further information can be found on the noticeboard at the side door of the Church.

Serran Prayer for Vocations

O God, Who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather that he be converted and live, grant we beseech You, through the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, Saint Joseph, her spouse, Blessed Junipero Serra, and all the saints, an increase of labourers for your Church, fellow labourers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls, through the same Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
