PAPAL VISIT UPDATE
Forty Hours Adoration
Father McGrorry will be leading the services as follows:
Sunday 29th August at 6.30pm: The theme is "The Successor of Peter visits the children of Andrew"
Monday 30th August at 7.30pm: The theme is "Joseph Ratzinger - a journey of faith"
Tuesday 31st August at 7.30pm: The theme is "Pope Benedict speaks to us".
Faith Sharing Group
To prepare for the Pope's visit, we hope to have some Faith Sharing / Prayer Group meetings. The first will be on Monday 6th September at 7.30pm.

Volunteers for Knights of St Columba
The Knights of St Columba have been asked to organize around 600 Marshals for the Papal Mass. Volunteers should be prepared for a long day - possibly 10am to 8pm. Main duties involve manning distribution points for Holy Communion. Volunteers must be over 16. Names, addresses and phone numbers of interested parties should be sent to Knights of St Columba, Head Office, 75 Hillington Road South, Glasgow G52 2AE.

Booking forms for this are available in the Theresa Hall and Sacristy. Details about the Mass are on the Booking Form. Still a few places left on the bus so please return your form asap.
Parish Assembly
Date for your diary! The Parish Assembly will take place on Tuesday 7th September at 7.30pm in the Church. More details will follow shortly.
Sacraments 2010/11
If you have a child who would like to celebrate the Sacraments of First Confession, Confirmation or First Holy Communion this coming year, you or someone representing you, must attend the preparation meeting on Thursday 9th September at 7.30pm in the Church.
Dates for Baptismal Course
The next course for Baptismal will take place on Sunday 12th September at 3pm, Thursday 16th September at 7pm and Sunday 19th September at 3pm.
Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary is running a bus to Carfin on Monday 13th September to celebrate the Apparitions at Fatima. Bus leaves Douglas Street car park at 6pm. Cost £6 per person - list in Church porch. 60 Plus Club
The club will resume again on Monday 4th October at the usual time of 2pm in the Theresa Hall. All welcome to come along for a coffee and a chat.
St Joseph's Soup Run
A small, dedicated team of parishioners distribute soup and sandwiches to homeless hostels within Glasgow city centre on the 2nd Saturday of each month. The team are kindly requesting your support for those less fortunate than ourselves and ask for the following donations:
Sealed food e.g. packets of biscuits and crisps; sandwich bags; men's toiletries; new towels; cigarettes would also be appreciated. Please hand donations into the Sacristy.
National Pilgrimage to Carfin
....in honour of St Margaret on Sunday 5th September. Concelebrated Mass will start at 3.00pm with Cardinal Keith Patrick O'Brien and Most Rev. Mario J Conti. All welcome.
